Car Finance for the Volkswagen Polo

Volkswagen Polo steps up a gear with significant new models for 2016.

While a direct rival to the Golf the Volkswagen Polo is a great car option, sporting many variations of both petrol and diesel models. The incredible supermini is available in three and five-door body styles, making it both a family favourite and a top choice for those that like the sportier look.

At Carquo we have been helping motorists purchase Polos, Golfs, Ups and many other Volkswagen variants for years, understanding what it takes to arrive at a competitive rate for finance.

More defined than most cars of its size the new Polo is slick to say the least, showcasing great perceived interior body and a smooth exterior that screams modernity. Coming with a choice of 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8-litre petrol engines the car is perfect for those looking to control their overheads, with small-engine eco-friendly options sat next to faster, more expensive versions. A 1.4 diesel with two power outputs has also been added to the line, seeing VW-lovers spoilt for choice when compiling the features of their new Polo.

On the road

While pretty to look at many motorists will want to know how the Polo handles when out on the road, with cars from this section generally boasting sloppy features. However, it seems that the Polo is really out to impress, working with an admirable air of tenacity and attitude. Being punchy even on the most uneven of roads all of the Polos within the range drive well, something that car reviewers and owners are keen to promote.

What Car magazine hails VW's attitude towards price when making the Polo, happy to see that even in the cheaper version handling and ability is never compromised.

'Even on the cheaper, smaller-wheeled Polo models, ride comfort is a little questionable around town where scruffy roads can cause it to fidget, and bigger bumps can send a heavy thunk through the cabin. It’s subtle enough not to be a deal breaker for most buyers, even in the sportier models that are still more firmly sprung but whose pliant damping takes the sting out of most bumps.'

Being both stable, fun to drive and working with a great grip the Polo is unquestionably reliable, excelling when out on the open road as well as manoeuvring through the city traffic.

One for the thrill-seekers

The 1.4 petrol and 1.8 GTI are both set up to be more fun, with the GTI a popular option for Polo car finance. Renowned for possessing a certain attitude on the road the GTI is pretty extraordinary, a strongcompetitor when parked next to the likes of the Ford Focus ST. Qualities of the Polo GTI include:

  • Lower suspension

  • Bigger alloys

  • Quick responses

  • Faster speed

  • Entertaining adjustability

  • And much more!

Sporting a slightly larger price tag the GTI is certainly worth a look into, regarded as a completely different car to the more basic models.

Inside the cabin

Although what is under the bonnet is very important when buying a car on finance the inside should not be overlooked, with the Polo's cabin being remarkably impressive. With height adjustable seats and a reach-adjustable steering wheel the Polo is as much about comfort as it is about style; a vital factor for many. If it is comfort that you are after then the central armrest will be right up your street; an option on SE and SE Design and a standard feature on higher trims.

At the sportier end of the spectrum The R-Line, BlueGT and GTI models have much more supportive sports seats, seeing drivers at pure easy when navigating themselves around the streets.
