Car finance for the Audi A3

Audi's popular A3 hatchback is a favourite of young and first time drivers.

Audi's premium hatch segment was introduced to the market 20 years ago, encouraging a surge in car finance applications for the smaller Audi range. At Carquo we are happy to help anyone with sourcing and purchasing their A3, passionate to promote the incredible features the hatchback model boasts.

Sitting in the top ten cars for drivers between the ages of 17 and 24 the Audi A3 is eclectic when it comes to  qualities, showcasing strong efficiency, a great driving experience and interior that's 'a class above the BMW 1 Series' according to Auto Express.

Rivals and ability

Whilst a stand alone car it is not short of its rivals with BMW, Mercedes and Volva models all trying to compete with the A3. Based on the MQB platform, used widely within the VW Group, Audi has tuned the chassis to build and deliver a sporty vehicle, putting it up against cars such as the BMW M Sport and the A Class AMG models.

Being all about ability and performance the Audi comes in a variety of engine options, however, most boast a four-cylinder turbocharged units. The RS3 does however showcase a superb 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine, popular amongst the petrol heads of the UK. The 1.0-litre TFSI makes 113bhp 200Nm of torque, while the 1.4 delivers 148bhp and the 2.0-litre petrol gets 187bhp.

According to many sources the diesels make more financial sense, an option many drivers looking for Audi A3 car finance opt for. However, if it is power you are looking for the 2.0 TDI may be the one for you with impressive torque figures as well as reasonable refinement. While the 2.0 TDi is great it is not as frugal as the 1.6-litre, making 108bhp at 3,200-4,000rpm and 250Nm of torque from 1,500-3,000rpm.

According to Auto Express:

'The 2.0 delivers its power and torque figures across 3,500-4,000rpm and 1,750-3,000rpm respectively, although on the more powerful engine the peak torque hangs on to 3,250rpm. The headline stats are 148bhp and 340Nm, or 181bhp and 380Nm.'

'The 2.0-litre TFSI engine in the S3 has figures to match the Volkswagen Golf R, with 306bhp and 400Nm of torque. But the RS3’s 2.5-litre five-cylinder leaves even that in the shade. It serves up 362bhp from 5,550-6,800rpm and a huge 465Nm from 1,625-5,550rpm. While the S3’s four-cylinder sounds good, the RS3 has the edge for aural appeal thanks to trick exhausts and that fabled five-cylinder warble.'

Insuring your financed A3

The A3 model you select will dictate what type of premiums will be pitched to you. That said the majority of A3s fall into insurance group 16. We would have expected that the model falling into the highest insurancecategory would be the RS3 (group 40), however that title has been given to the S3 Cabriolet, sitting quite comfortably in insurance group 42!

So, whether it is price, performance or aesthetics that is driving your love for the car take solace in the fact that Audi are aware of insures' attitude towards high power cars, incorporating a wealth of  safety assist systems and quattro all-wheel drive on the A3, both elements that help with insurance premiums.

Design

While what is under the bonnet will have a bearing on your love for the A3 the beauty the vehicle prevails is often hailed as unparalleled, with the design of both the interior and exterior being immaculate.Consumed with clean lines and minimalist design the A3 admirably puts the following features up for grabs :

  • Large grilles

  • 5.8-inch infotainment screen

  • Rotary wheel on the centre console

  • Streamlined dashboard

  • Tech pack option

  • Silver and badge detailing

  • Air conditioning

  • Bluetooth (as standard)

  • Satnav

  • Digital dials

  • And much more!
